The single phase induction motors can be classified according to the phase difference produced between the currents in the main and auxiliary windings.

The single phase induction motors can be classified according to the phase difference produced between the currents in the main and auxiliary windings. They are

1. Split phase induction motors

2. Capacitor start induction motors

3. Capacitor run induction motors

4. Capacitor start capacitor run induction motor

5. Shaded pole motor
