FIELD
EFFECT TRANSISTOR (FET)
The
FET stands for Field Effect Transistor. It is a three terminal semiconductor
device in which current is controlled by an electric field. The operation of
FET is depends only on the majority carriers. But BJT depends on both types of
charge carriers.
There
are two types of FET:
(1)
Junction Field Effect Transistor (JFET)
(2)
Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET)
The
MOSFET is further subdivided into two types
(i)
Depletion type MOSFET
(ii)
Enhancement type MOSFET
